In aid of the firefighters: Girls Empowerment Camp is back!
Young people ready to change the world were given the opportunity by the Orange County Fire Department to attend Girls Empowerment Camp.
Girls Empowerment Camp is an exciting and free two-day camp for girls ages 14-18. This is the fourth time it has been organized by the Orange County Fire Department. Once again, young people will have the opportunity to try their hand at firefighting and get an inside look at the world of rescue.
This year's camp will be held October 7-8 in Irvine at the Fire Department Training Center, 1 Fire Authority Road. The schedule is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. And lunch is provided for teen participants.
Camp participants will learn about the fire department in general, all aspects of the department. They will also gain life skills, professional attitudes that will allow them to pursue a career in public safety. And most importantly - realistic practical experience in firefighting.
If you feel the desire to help others, fight danger and save lives, Girls Empowerment Camp is for you.

Registration for the camp is now open and will run through September 3. But you should hurry, as the last number of places is limited. After all, this year's camp is designed for 60 participants. Interested parties are encouraged to register at joinocfa.org/gec. And for more information, email: GirlsEmpowermentCamp@ocfa.org.
May this initiative from OCFA inspire the younger generation to become true public safety advocates and leaders.
