More than just a pink walk through the streets of Newport Beach
Most of the participants will be wearing pink. "More than pink walk" will return to Orange County.
Newport Beach will host a pink walk on Sunday, September 24. Hundreds of people will walk the streets in support of those battling breast cancer. And honoring those who have died from the disease.
The More than pink walk charity march is run by Susan G. Komen, the world's leading breast cancer organization. Last year, the fundraising goal for the event was $550,000. This year's goal is $589,000. All money raised will go toward research and support for breast cancer patients.
"We are committed to finding a cure. Imagine the impact we can have on overcoming breast cancer when we come together. We can fund research, increase access to care, support our community and commit to action," say organizers. - "We are excited to bring back the More than pink walk run. And we invite everyone to participate in this event to do their part in the fight against breast cancer."
Registration for participation will open at 7:00. The opening ceremony will begin at 8:30. The Newport Beach Pink Walk will start at 9:00 in front of Pacific Life on Newport Center Drive. Along with several other streets, it will be closed off from traffic for the duration of the event.
You can also register online for individual or team walks. In addition, the organization needs volunteers. And the event itself needs spectators. For more information, visit this online.
