Discover Aliso Viejo, an Orange County, California treasure

Aliso Viejo (Spanish for "Old Sycamore") is a city in the San Joaquin Hills in southern Orange County, California. It is bordered by the cities of Laguna Beach to the west and southwest, Laguna Hills to the east, Laguna Niguel to the southeast, and Laguna Woods to the north. Despite only becoming the 34th city in Orange County on July 1, 2001, Aliso Viejo's history goes back further than one might think.

The valley where Aliso Viejo is located today was home to the Juaneno Indians, who used the land for hunting and gathering. With the arrival of Spanish colonists in the 18th century, the land was subdivided and used as ranches for cattle ranching.

Passing from one owner to another during the 20th century, these lands transformed, becoming mainly a region for cattle ranching and agriculture. The construction of residential complexes in the 1970s ushered in a new era of development and progress for Aliso Viejo.

Aliso Viejo was the first planned community in California to plan for a balance between the projected permanent workforce and the number of projected jobs within its boundaries. Pacific Park, a 900-acre (360 ha) business park and town center, was expected to eventually support more than 22,000 jobs. Each home in Aliso Viejo was located within 1 + 1/2 miles (2.4 km) of Pacific Park to encourage living and working opportunities.

Aliso Viejo is now a vibrant city known for its well-maintained parks, walking trails, and outdoor recreation areas. With incredible panoramic views of the rolling hills and proximity to Southern California beaches, this city is the perfect place for those who appreciate quiet city life and the beauty of nature.

Aliso Viejo is a unique blend of modern urban living and rich history, embellished by the natural beauty of Southern California.
