For those who can build, design, and serve..... delicious creations, Southern California's largest gingerbread competition is launching!

The OC Science of Gingerbread contest and exhibition returns to Discovery Cube OC and LA. Anyone who feels empowered to create beautiful and delicious things, regardless of age or skill level, is invited. Best of all, participants have the opportunity to win $3,500!

The submission period runs from Nov. 18 through Dec. 3. However, gingerbread house authors should be aware that three award categories have been created. These are Winter Wonderland, World of Science and It's a Small World. According to them, you should decorate your own creations. Register here and show your imagination!

Please note that the programs and demonstrations in the competition will end on December 31, 2023. But the gingerbread exhibition will continue until January 7, 2023.

Specifically, gingerbread demonstrations will take place on November 18, 19, 25, 26, December 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30 and 31. During these events, guests will learn:

• where gingerbread comes from, what it was used for and how it was used in baking
• about the creation of gingerbread houses and their origins. And also about how they are associated with the holidays
• how children can make their own gingerbread houses. And how to make the edible glue that holds all the creations together - royal icing.

Also, kids can decorate ginger cookies and candy.

In addition to the competition, expect the long-awaited return of the Winter Lights Music Festival in Orange County, filled with original songs, science and holiday spirit. Also, welcome the new year with your kids at the New Year's Eve party at Discovery Cube in Los Angeles!
