Fall events in Orange County are attracting the attention of animal lovers! Orange County Animal Services (OCAS) is gearing up for two great festivals this fall. Furry Fall Festival and Barktoberfest promise many joyful moments and animal adoption opportunities.

Orange County's fall events have become especially anticipated as both festivities will take place in the same week.

"These are two key events that we prepare for with great excitement each year," says Diane Summers, Service Manager.

Furry Fall Festival will open on October 25, 2023, and will be dedicated in memory of Joey Campo. The event will be held next to the Mall at Millenia. Attendees can expect exciting entertainment as well as special pet adoptions.

The 10th anniversary of Barktoberfest will be celebrated on October 29 at Lake Eola. This celebration not only delights guests with entertainment, but also emphasizes the importance of collaboration between animal care services and rescue groups. Orange County's fall events emphasize teamwork in saving animal lives.

Both festivals offer a wide variety of pets for adoption, as well as a variety of entertainment and services, including free vaccinations and microchipping at Barktoberfest.

The Furry Fall Festival is expected to feature not only a presentation of pets looking to find homes, but other entertainment as well. Guests will enjoy food trucks, musical groups and Halloween-style entertainment. According to Summers, this is one of the OCAS staff's favorite events. Many of the employees come in costume, "getting into the holiday spirit and enjoying each other's company." Last year, 34 pets found their new homes through the event. Organizers hope this year's results will be even better.

Barktoberfest, in turn, is not only a place to meet the different breeds and ages of animals presented for adoption from various rescue groups. The event provides free rabies vaccinations and microchipping services.

"This is the perfect event for anyone considering getting a pet. Come with an open mind and you are sure to find your loyal friend," states Diane Summers.
