Oktoberfest, a celebration of beer and fried sausage, is coming: learn more about the first three Orange County cities to host the festival.

One of California's first festivities kicks off Los Alamitos on September 9. The street fair of food, beer and fun will be held on Pine Street (10902 Pine St Los Alamitos, CA 90720). Expect lots of themed drinks, classic dishes and food for vegetarians.

What to expect. Family friendly, Foodie Fest, tons of vendors, live music, beer garden (21+ Over), great family games, even adult games like axe throwing.

September 15-17, Anaheim invites you to Oktoberfest.

Oktoberfest is the traditional and largest beer festival in the world. Its history began in Munich in the early 19th century. It was first held in 1810 on the occasion of the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghaus. Since then, the festival has been held in Munich every year, in late September and early October, and lasts for two weeks. Traditional Bavarian sausages are served alongside the various beers, which are poured into traditional mugs of about one liter. Interestingly, the waiters hold up to ten mugs at a time. It's hard to even imagine!
