Little Denmark in California invites you to three days of Scandinavian fun

On September 15-17, Denmark's old-world country charm will merge with the American lifestyle at the Solvang Danish Days Danish Heritage Festival.

Fans of Solvang Danish Days can rejoice - the favorite festival of Danish culture is back. This year's program of events will last three days - from Friday, September 15 to Sunday, September 17. And will be dedicated to the theme "Kom Sammen" (English for "gather"). The festival will honor the founding of Solvang by Danish Americans in 1911. And will allow you to fully immerse yourself in authentic Danish heritage.

Solvang Danish Days

  • The traditional three-day event will kick off Friday at 4 p.m. with a live downtown concert, axe-throwing fun, a Viking beer and wine garden and an evening torchlight parade.
  • On Saturday, Solvang's famous aebleskiver will take center stage during the annual Æbleskiver Breakfast. It will start at 8:30 am. Next will be the LEGO Danish Days Solvang LEGO construction contest from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and the Danish Days parade.
  • Sunday is again aebleskiver breakfast on Sunday. Then there will be a LEGO contest, aebleskiver eating competition and a closing ceremony at 14:30.

The first festival appeared in 1936 in honor of the village's 25th anniversary. Since then, it has always been held with authentic food, a parade, dancing, family entertainment and the like. Festival guests have the opportunity to go back in time and feel like they are directly involved in all the events.
