The Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures at Harvard University is looking for a person to fill the position of professor of Ukrainian literature and culture. The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2024.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, typically two courses per semester. Including freshman seminars, survey courses, and advanced seminars.

"We are looking for an energetic colleague committed to growing our Ukrainian Studies program, engaging students in the study of this part of the world, advising graduate students, collaborating with our full-time Ukrainian faculty, and creatively blending Ukrainian Studies with other disciplines and regions.

We expect the candidate to participate in the administrative and advisory responsibilities of the department. As well as participate broadly in the academic culture of the University. In particular the Harvard Ukrainian Studies Institute. It is dedicated to the study of the history and culture of independent Ukraine. Demonstrating a strong commitment to teaching and innovative scholarship is a prerequisite," the job description reads.

The vacancy offered by Harvard has several conditions for the candidate.

One of the conditions of participation in the selection process is to complete and sign a special form. It is entitled "Authorization for Disclosure of Information to External Applicants". If the candidate does not add the signed authorization to the application materials, the application will be considered incomplete. And, like any other incomplete application, will not be considered.
